RinkNet
Scouting Software began developing software in 1998 with the first client
being the National Hockey League’s Nashville Predators. Before the end of the
first season, the Atlanta Thrashers and Columbus Blue Jackets joined,
creating a full-service product. As the program and its database grew, the
RinkNet family has grown each year. Today, RinkNet services 26 NHL clubs as
well as 26 Canadian Hockey League teams plus national team and club team
programs for Canada, Finland, Sweden
and Germany.
A total of over 800 scouts, managers, and hockey office personnel currently
use the system. The company grew from one person to the current staff, which
provides clients with custom programming, tech support, and data entry.
RinkNet Staff
Jim Price
Jim’s the founder and president of the company. His computer programmer
training started in the 1980’s at Conestoga
College’s Computer
Programmer/Analyst program and continued during his 25 year career in the
hockey industry. Jim was the Assistant General Manager of the Hamilton
SteelHawks/Niagara Falls Thunder franchise in the Ontario Hockey League
before becoming Director of Information for the Canadian Hockey League. As
chief developer of the software, the combination of hockey and programming
was a natural fit.
Denis McCarroll
Denis is our program support specialist, helping users work with the program
and learn new areas. Denis is also a liaison for new clients to discuss
RinkNet’s features and configurations.
Gary Scott
Gary works in our Customer Service department as an IT Specialist. He helps
scouts out with computer problems they may experience while trying to access
our software. Using his computer background and experience, Gary is dedicated to helping our clients
get up and running.
Jennifer Mitchell
Jen has recently moved to our customer service department.
She provides customer and technical assistance.
Matt
Waechter
Matt has been working on program development and helps out with technical
support in the customer service department.
Allan
Dittmer
Allan is also aiding in program development while aiding in the Customer
Service Department.
Kristin Whittaker
Kristin works in our customer service department. As the Customer
Service Assistant she will provide customer and technical assistance.
Tanya Wilson
Tanya recently started in our customer service department providing customer and technical assistance.
Kareena Cornish
Kareena is our Video Technician in charge of assembling video clips
on players.
Brittany Jeffay
Brittany has recently joined as another Video Technician assembling video clips on players.
Sandra Henri
Sandra co-ordinates the database for our Western Hockey
League clients maintaining schedules, rosters and other
information for Tier II, Midget and Bantam leagues in
Canada. Sandie is also the coordinator for the Women’s
Hockey Region.
Lindsay McDonald
Lindsay co-ordinates the Pro Region and Major Juniors as well as the Europe region, maintaining schedules, rosters
and other information.
Meaghan Walsh
Meaghan co-ordinates the Ontario & Quebec/Maritime Regions
for Tier II, Midget and Bantam leagues across Canada.
Amanda Jennings
Amanda co-ordinates the U.S. Region maintaining schedules, rosters
and other information for College and Tier II leagues.
Laura Kennedy
Laura has recently joined in the data department providing help
with data entry where needed.
Fredrik Steen
Fredrik offers users technical support in Europe, being
based in Sweden.
