Ontario Hockey League and RinkNet Extend Strategic Partnership to Power Next-Generation League Operations and Scouting
Toronto, ON — September 11, 2025 — The Ontario Hockey League (OHL) and RinkNet, the gold standard in hockey software, are pleased to announce the extension of their strategic partnership. This renewed collaboration introduces a suite of innovative digital tools designed to enhance league operations, streamline scouting workflows, and reinforce the OHL’s role as a premier development league for future professional hockey players.
Beginning with the 2025-26 season, the OHL will expand its use of RinkNet’s integrated platform to manage trades, waivers, and player information through dedicated tools including TradeCenter, WaiverCenter, Central Registry, and 1Rink. These systems will provide OHL teams and league officials with a centralized, secure environment to track player movement, maintain accurate data, and make informed decisions throughout the season and leading into the OHL Priority Selection.
Empowering Scouting Excellence Across the League
As part of the expanded partnership, all OHL teams will leverage RinkNet’s advanced scouting software to identify and evaluate top prospects across North America. This reinforces the OHL’s commitment to excellence in player development and its reputation as a key stepping stone to professional hockey.
The OHL will also begin utilizing 1Rink, RinkNet’s communication and player app, to strengthen connections with feeder leagues and ensure real-time updates to player profiles. This will support more effective scouting preparation, helping teams make the best decisions based on the most current data available.
Enhancing Game-Day Experience for Scouts with Digital Line Charts
To further support professional scouting, the OHL will expand its use of the Press Room App to deliver digital line charts for all OHL games. These charts will be made available to scouts, including those from NHL organizations, providing instant access to lineup information and player data in a mobile-friendly format.
A Shared Vision for the Future of Hockey Operations
“This partnership with RinkNet reflects our shared commitment to innovation and player development,” said Bryan Crawford, Commissioner of the Ontario Hockey League. “By integrating these new tools, we’re not only improving how we operate as a league, but also how we support our teams in identifying and developing the next generation of elite hockey talent.”
“We’re proud to continue our work with the OHL and support their vision for a more connected and data-driven future,” said Jonathan Hou, CEO of RinkNet. “These enhancements will empower teams, scouts, and league officials with the tools they need to succeed at every level of major junior hockey.”
Together, the OHL and RinkNet are setting a new standard for major junior hockey operations, scouting, and player development.
